WINNER AND LOSERS OF AUGUST
MX-5 sales have exploded in light of the ND-Series launch Down Under. It was a brilliant move for Mazda to have the roadster reintroduced at a price only $2K more than its 1989 tag. It’s also worth noting Mazda hasn’t even welcomed its 2.0-litre bigblock variant yet, which is due fourth quarter this year.
THE market has frozen on the Mini Coupe/ Roadster, as August’s monthly sales rolled over a big fat zero for the quirky duo.
BMW effectively marked the Coupe and Roadster as dead when it declared the third-generation Mini would concentrate on ‘core offerings’, and now we’re seeing supply trickle out the door.
