Porsche Mission E

PRIOR to VWs Dieselgate catastrophe, Porsche previewed the Mission E, an electric four-door, fourseat all-wheel drive sports sedan. And it was recently confirmed for production before the decades end.

With 440kW from twin electric motors, a claimed range in excess of 500km on a full charge, the ability to recharge to 80 per cent in just 15 minutes, and huge performance figures how does 0-200km/h in under 12 seconds grab you? the Mission E has reportedly had almost AUD$2 billion spent on it already.

The local view is consistent with the global view, said Porsche Australia spokesperson Paul Ellis.

This isnt fanciful stuff; this isnt dreamworks. This is pioneering technology, which will make it into a Porsche road car.

Its not a novelty, its serious and weve learned a lot from the (Le Manswinning) 919 hybrid racecar and the 918 Spyder, and a lot of that electrification intellect has come through our cars. Its a genuine piece of engineering that will come to the road, for sure.
