JEEP went a little cuckoo for the 50th Easter Safari in Utah, America, a fan event which also coincided with the brand’s 75th anniversary.
So much so it dropped the Dodge Charger Hellcat’s supercharged 6.2-litre Hemi V8 into a one-off Wrangler.
Called the Trailcat concept, it sports 527kW/881Nm and a cry that’ll send eco-mentalists up trees to hide.
Jeep stretched the Wrangler’s chassis by 30 centimetres to fit the new engine, while Fox suspension, a five centimetre lift, 39.5-inch tyres and Dana 60 axles front and rear really improve its rockclimbing skills.
The windshield’s been chopped two inches, while bucket seats have been pinched from the Dodge Viper.
The Trailcat scores a six-speed auto and a unique Hellcat ball shifter, along with a domed and vented hood and LED headlights.
