I’m off to Melbourne from Sydney and looking for drives on the way back to save me from boredom on the Hume. Got any suggestions? You guys have reviewed some of Australia’s best driving roads, maybe you could set up a section where we could find this collection online when deciding where to do our next mountain blast.

Unfortunately the magazine collection doesn’t often follow in a house move.

You’re spoilt for choice, Morgan. If time’s not much of a problem, exit Melbourne through the Yarra ranges, passing Marysville to Mansfield. You won’t regret a quick detour off the C512 up to Lake Mountain. Then head up to Wangaratta before running to Falls Creek and Mount Beauty. After that, Mount Koscuiszko and the surrounding National Park serve up beautiful roads and scenery. But even if you tick off only one of these places, we’d say you’ve done pretty well.
