THE FINAL layers of asphalt have been laid at Luddenham Raceway complex, promising Sydney an allnew racetrack by 2018’s end.
The 1.4km racing circuit in South Western Sydney is honing in on its planned January completion date, to add a car-friendly zone to the site’s existing karting track.
The official opening date is yet to be finalised until it is tested and deemed fit for use, but is expected to be sometime next year.
Hopefully sooner than later.
Once finished it will neighbour Badgerys Creek’s planned airport site and be only a 25 minute drive to Sydney Motorsport Park with its much longer circuit.
However, head of marketing at Luddenham Raceway Maria Vukmirica says 24 metres of elevation change will mean drivers get their money’s worth.
“We are confident it will be known as a real drivers’ track. Once you drive it you will understand.
Each time we post any updates on social media we are inundated with queries, interest and support from the community so it is very uplifting,” said Vukmirica.
