GOOD news for entrants at Street Machine Summernats 30 – there will now be two scrutineering stations open, one inside EPIC as usual and one outside in the neighbouring racecourse. This will make for a much smoother path into the event for everyone. Nice one!
CONGRATS to Brian Riley of Canberra, who won a monster 528-piece Sidchrome tool kit, just for subscribing to Street Machine. Brian picked up his prize from the team at Total Tools in Fyshwick, and is itching to put it to good use.
LAST issue we ferked up royally in our Victorian Hot Rod Show coverage. Instead of picturing Peter Elliot’s SIMPLICITY ’34 as the winner of Australia’s Coolest Ride (and a ton of other trophies) we pictured Tony Wilson’s similar-butobviously- a-1932 CHOODA instead. You’ll have a chance to check Pete’s masterpiece out in detail in the next issue of Street Machine Hot Rod.
THE MAY mag goes on sale 21 April. We’ll have a big feature on Chris Bitmead’s XBOSS and coverage of the Detroit Autorama, plus Aeroflow Nitro Funny Cars from Portland, Gazzanats WA and all the action from the 2016 DLRA Speed Week at Lake Gairdner. Plus a heap of feature cars, including one the nation’s best mini-trucks, Australia’s coolest Rolls-Royce and one of the finest XW GS panel vans on the planet – or any planet, for that matter.
