WITH just over two months to go until the Red CentreNATS (2-4 September), everyone is getting fired up for the big trip to Alice Springs, and itís looking to be a party to remember.
Australiaís best tyre-fryers are set to cover the Red Centre in a cloud of thick white smoke, with several truckloads of Burnout Masters hopefuls heading inland for the show. Some of the big names looking to hit the Alice Springs Inland Dragway burnout pad include Mick Brasher (ULEGAL), Steve Loader (UCSMOKE), Paul Cook (BLWNVC), Thomas Beltrame (INFERNO), Russell Harris (LOOSE) and Nik Fraser (MELTEM).
But theyíre not the only big names heading to Alice this year Ė The Angels will be rocking out at Blatherskite Park on the Friday night with The Screaming Jetsí frontman Dave Gleeson handling the vocals. We had a moment to catch up with Dave about the upcoming gig.

I was just at a show one night and they asked me up to sing, and before I knew it I was recording with them and off we went around the country.
Oh mate, I love it. I love the cars. Rock íní roll and cars; I mean thatís why The Jets called their album Chrome. I love that fact. I think rock íní roll and cars are synonymous.
I have, I love Alice Springs, and the great thing for the band is that very rarely do you go up there because the expense can be really prohibitive. But mate, itís unreal. Thereís just something about the place.
With The Angels, I think the most memorable gig weíve done is the Clipsal 500. We played the Clipsal about three years ago to about 25,000 people. So yeah, that was just awesome. We played on the Saturday night and then KISS and Motley Crue played on the Sunday night.
Yeah, I think The Jets played at Summernats in 2012, or something like that, and itís the only chance I get to go to shows like that, because having two kids I donít get to say: ďDarl, Iím just off for a few days, and Iíll be covered in tyres when I come home.Ē So yeah, itís a fantastic opportunity for us to just get around and look at the cars, and just be involved in the excitement of the celebrations.
I do, itís an HQ Monaro. That would be my favourite.
Oh, I think five litres is enough for me [laughs]!
