“I BOUGHT my Torana 10 years ago, as I had wanted an LJ since I was a kid. It was in pretty good condition when I bought it; it just needed a freshen-up. Originally it had an RB20 in it, but that was quickly pulled out in favour of an RB25DET, along with custom turbo and intake manifolds built to suit. The stock internals were replaced with Spool rods, CP pistons, and HKS cams and lifters. With the Garrett T04Z turbo, the motor made 504hp on pump 98, tuned with a Microtech LT12. It shifts through a five-speed manual with a billet NPC clutch, while the rear end consists of a nine-inch with 3.7 gears and 31-spline axles. Thanks to Spot On Performance and Justin Falla for all their help over the years.”

“HERE are a few pics of my Fords. The build of my XA coupe began in 2010 and was finished in late 2012. It runs a 557 big-block stroker putting out just over 730hp at the flywheel, backed by a C6 auto and nine-inch diff. My XD ute was built between 2014 and early this year, and is powered by an FG turbo donk, running to a C4 auto and XH LSD.”
“MY BROTHER has every SM magazine since 1982; we both just love cars.
And as you can see from this pic, we have plenty of them to polish! From left to right: Holden one-tonner (still in the build, and running a 350 Chevy); 1970 El Camino with a 454 BBC and Turbo 400; 2004 HSV Maloo with a 5.7L and six-speed manual; and a 2007 HSV GTS with a 6.0L and six-speed manual.”
“MY 1998 XH V8 ute is painted in Midnight Purple and has been lowered two inches on the rear. It rolls on 17-inch ROH wheels, which I reckon look really good. It also came with a full three-inch exhaust. Inside, there are XH XR6 seats, a Bluetooth stereo and Alpine door speakers. It will soon have an EL XR8 front end on it and an AU XR8 Momo steering wheel. I get my licence next week, so I can’t wait to cruise around in it and show it off to the world.”
“THIS is my 1983 XE Falcon that I have owned for six years. I bought it off eBay for $500 and started from there. I have done all the work myself, with help from my dad. It’s running a 351, C4, twin 2˝-inch exhaust and FR1 Simmons wheels.
It was my everyday car for three years, but it’s now just a weekend cruiser. I have entered it into Summernats and I can’t wait to have a bit of fun there.”
“I AM 14 years old, and I just bought my first car for $150. It’s a 1978 HZ ute with a red 202 motor, and was converted to manual transmission. It rides on some dry-rotted Goodrich and Goodyear tyres and Sunraysia rims. I have already started work to turn it from a clapped-out bogan ute into a cool burnout car, as I don’t have the money to restore it, and there’d be too much to restore in any case. I don’t intend to put a huge engine in just yet, again due to lack of funds.”
