THIS year’s Street Machine Summernats was a corker! You can check out our report on page 80, but for all the gory details, interviews and some amazing images, grab a copy of the Summernats 30 magazine, on sale 16 February.
It is available in all good newsagents and fuel emporiums. If you can’t track down a copy, do a search for it on magshop.com.au and you can grab one - with free shipping within Australia.
THE rumour mill was working overtime at Summernats 30, with lots of talk about who is bringing a car to the fourth instalment of Street Machine Drag Challenge. We spoke to two Pro Street legends who are planning to put detuned engines in their cars so they take part in the event.
These guys aren’t aiming to set the world on fire, they just want to cruise, race and have fun with their mates. But there are plenty of other racers who are dead-keen on taking the outright crown from Bubba Medlyn, and they are building bigcube, twin-turbo monsters to do it.
With the event itself, we’re hoping to cross over into South Australia this time, but we’ll confirm the tracks and dates later in the year. In the meantime, if you are serious about entering a car, send us some details and photo of your ride to firstname.lastname@example.org to get on the waiting list.
SOMEHOW, it is March already, which means we have Motorvation from Perth and the Victorian Hot Rod Show for ya, just for starters!
Feature cars will include what we reckon was the coolest car at SEMA, and – if the stars line up – a full feature on Mark ‘Happy’ Williams’s Grand Champion-winning tonner. The mag goes on sale 23 February, but if you can’t wait that long, head to streetmachine.com.au for daily updates of horsepower!
