A GROCER put up a sign above his pumpkins: ‘$2 each or three for $10.’ All day long people approached to him to point out his incorrect maths. “It should be $6 at the most for three,” one man said. “I’ll just buy them separately and save money.”

This went on all day, with people buying three pumpkins separately for less after admonishing the grocer for his incorrect sign.

One of the grocer’s employees watched this go on all day and finally asked him: “Are you going to fix the sign or what?”

The grocer replied: “What do I need to fix?

Before I put up the sign nobody bought three pumpkins.”
