Beeming Bowe

JB loves a good hot rod and the UC conversation has turned to sleepers lately, and we’ve been asking what the best combination sleeper is or what the tidiest sleeper is you’ve come across. This is one of JB’s favourites in a long list – it’s an E30 318iS stuffed full of 3.2 litres of M3 E46 goodness. That’s right, owner David Levy, shoe-horned the hi-po straight-six M3 engine into the engine bay of an E30 and JB reckons it’s a bit of a weapon. About the only things giving it away are the cheeky M3 badges on the gills and that aggressive stance courtesy of a dose of camber and lowered ride-height. Calleja’s Vette Invited

Joe Calleja and John Bowe are about to take on the aristocracy, letting rip with Joe’s grunty, rip-snorting C2 Corvette to take on the Europeans at the Goodwood Revival. Have a listen as we check in with the two of them as they shakedown their Goodwood-correct race car at a Winton test day. It’s not all about rocking up in some hot rod and blowing the competition out of the water – JB and Joe will be up against it, trying to manoeuvre the big Yank tank around the tight British circuit against Ferraris, Jags, Astons, Porsches and many other golden-era racers. Naturally, we’ll be the proverbial flyon- the-wall and bring you all their highs and lows.

Spectre Calls

It’s been too long since the last Bond film came out. It feels like it was an EON ago – get it? On November 6th James Bond is back in Daniel Craig’s fourth outing as the rough-and-tumble 007 we’ve grown to love. This time, he spirals down the rabbit hole of SPECTRE, the dark organisation it seems he’s been unwittingly chasing from day dot. We’ve been watching the trailer on repeat and you can check out the additional behind-the-scenes stuff about the Aston Martin DB10 and other super-rides featured in SPECTRE.

Take a deep breath, buckle up and get ready for what is likely Craig’s explosive finale as the world’s best secret agent.

Spring Has Sprung

There’s no hiding the fact we’re excited about some half-decent weather worth conversing about around the office Birko boiler.

That means it’s petrolhead season! It’s time to get your rowdy rod, your superb supercar or your cruisin’ classic out from the cobwebs and into the sunshine for whatever motoring event, show ‘n’ shine or coffee-and-cars gig is on the radar. If you’re not sure where to head or what to do, allow us to show you the way with our Coming Events pages at the back of this very issue or at TradeUniqueCars. com.au/events. It’s that easy! Pick your state, pick a month and saddle up for a springtime sprint or a summer slog to somewhere new or even your favourite destination. See you on the road, folks!
