29 Feb-4 Mar Australian Speed Week

Organised by Dry Lake Racers’ Association at Lake Gairdner, SA. See some of Australia’s fastest cars and bikes run toward 400km/h on the dry salt surface of Lake Gairdner.

Say g’day to GT, too, and laugh at his Bug! The event’s remote red-dirt location 250km from Iron Knob (camping only for entrants and spectators – no accommodation/services) adds to this event’s aura.

21 February Greater Gippsland Car & Bike Show

Moe Racing Club (Waterloo Rd) opens its grounds to all the hot and cool metal the Gippy region has to offer. Chrome, plastic and everything from anywhere is welcome (not Priuses or Camry’s of course), just classics. Snap yourself up a trade stall or just bring the motley crew out for a day of wandering and sticky-beaking among the live music and food vans.

25 March Make them Shine

The Thunderbird Owners Club of Victoria is proud to announce that we will be holding our “Make Them Shine 2016” car exhibition at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in support of the Royal Childrens hospital Good Friday appeal. Last year we raised $15,147 the second highest in the convention centre, this year we aim to beat that amount.

This year will have a raffle with tickets selling at $2.50 each. 1st prize is a Tuff Lift TL4.0BPDI 2 Post Hoist. 2nd prize is Tools to the value of $300. 3rd prize is Car Cleaning Products to the value of $100.

6 March Italian Auto Icons display

The Italian Auto Icons Display is coming to Melbourne’s ‘Little Italy’, Lygon Street, Carlton, on Sunday 6th March. Lygon street will be closed off between Faraday and Elgin Streets, with FREE public entry from 10am to 3pm.

This year’s Italian Auto Icons Display will feature 70 classic and rare Italian cars and over 40 popular Italian motorcycles and scooters.

Members of six Melbourne car clubs and some private owners will be representing brands including Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Fiat, Lancia, Lamborghini and Maserati.

Zagame in conjunction with Fiat Chrysler Australia (FCA) will be displaying a range of current and new models of cars. There will be an even larger display this year of Italian motorbikes and scooters given the favourable visitor feedback received from last year.

Free face painting will be available for the kids.

6 March Isabella & Marcus Show

Supporting a fund that tackles childhood brain cancer, this show has grown iunto a massive event with something in the order of 550 cars, plus music and lots of other features.

The MB Car Club NSW has strung together a fantastische weekend for lovers of the three-pointed star. 18-20 March Chryslers on the Murray

Without doubt one of the biggest Chrysler meets on the calendar every year.

DECA driver training will run driving events on the Friday, judging begins on Saturday and trophies awarded Sunday. But even if you’re not there to be scrutinised, get along to Wodonga to see some of the sweetest Mopar, Dodge, AMC, Rambler et al. Saturday will also involve a Supercruise out to the Hume Weir, so be on the lookout. Get your entries in before March 7.
