INTERESTINGLY, the MGB shares space here with the model that took away its title of ‘everyman’s sports car’.
For 20 years before anyone ever knew of a Mazda MX5, the roomy, slightly rough and definitely leak-prone ‘B’ could be seen and heard anywhere there was some reasonably entertaining bitumen.
They were for decades the archetypal sports car but age and relevance are taking a toll, so are the MGB’s days as the traditionalists’ choice numbered? We doubt it. Will the ‘B’ will ever become scarce and valuable? Well, that’s a ‘no’ as well. Cheap to buy, easily maintained and lots of fun; what more could you want from a sports car?
