DESPITE HUGE fanfare and a couple of Touring Car titles, Nissan Australia made a total balls of shifting just 100 roadgoing versions of the R32 model. That, you might think, would deter any ‘grey’ importer from bringing in the later Japanese-spec R33 but sales boomed and profits were huge. Of course it didn’t last, leaving a massive over-supply in the used market and V (for Victory) Spec R33s in apparently respectable order from around $20,000. At that price they might need some work but for this level of performance and credibility the R33 is just an insane bargain.
