KICKSTART íER

Paul Harker Gosford, NSW

Wondering if you can help. Iíve acquired a solid but scruffy LX Torana SL hatch from a member of the family who just had it laying up in a garage on his farm. I can find a load of specific how-to articles about restoring bits of it on the internet but thereís no real guide as to how to manage a resto from start to finish. I was trying to avoid getting to work on one part of the car, only to find that it was time wasted because something else needed doing first and it would then undo the work Iíd done in the first instance. So where should I begin? Engine, body, interior? Any tips greatly appreciated.

ED: Good question, Paul, and itís one weíre addressing in our forthcoming Muscle Car Guide, which should be on the shelves on the May 2.

Knowing what needs to be done is one thing. Getting all your ducks in a row so that you donít waste time and money is another. Itís a black art and we hope to reveal in that mag. Plus thereís a stack of gorgeous muscle cars to ogle. Meanwhile, this issueís Rerader Resto has some good advice.
