COBRA BUILD LAST YEAR we worked with Sidchrome to support their Project Kombi initiative. Working with the kids from Chisholm TAFE and the Australian VW Performance Centre, we followed along as they turned a very sad Kombi into a super-cool cruiser, with a big horsepower injection and a total restoration.

The car was then won by a lucky Sidchrome customer, who has been spotted driving the thing all over WA.

It was so much fun, it had to be done again, but this time the team has opted for something with a little more horsepower than the VW could offer. But what? Something Australian? Something American?

Maybe even something British?

After much debate, they settled on a mix of all three, namely an AC Cobra replica. Watch the mag and the website for the full story, including video.

Motor also got to have a pedal in the new 488 GTB around Sydney, a car that Scotty Newman found both fast and reliable.

Plus: We've been gazing with envy for a few months now as overseas owners of BMW’s F series M cars – the F80 M3, F83 M3 Convertible and F82 M4 – have been optioning up their cars with something called the Competition Pack.

Koenigsegg’s mighty 1000kW/1371Nm One:1 ‘Megacar’ has suffered a huge accident during testing at the Nurburgring. Watch the aftermath, plus a record run in a Porsche 918.

MERCEDES-BENZ C63S BENZ HAS gifted the AMG treatment to its new-gen C-Class coupe, but this isn’t just a two-door C63 S sedan – it’s an even tougher, burlier, better performance car.

This is the first Aussie road drive of the new-gen C63 S Coupe, following our track drive at Sydney Motorsport Park back in May meaning it’s the real test of how the Coupe’s broader footprint, wider rubber and finessed suspension cope in the wild.

Plus: It has already angered the funpolice; we belt the brand-new Ford Focus RS.

The pinnacle of Ford Performance’s expertise when it comes to building a take-no-prisoners, all-wheel-drive turbo hyper-hatch It’s just gone on sale in Australia, and we had to know if the extraordinary abilities we experienced in our first overseas drive translated successfully to Australian roads. Spoiler alert: they do.
