1971 HONDA 1300 COUPE 9 $24,500


TRACK DAY cars are usually the last thing Iíd look at given the thrashing most cop. However, in this case Iíll make a exception because of this modelís famous history.

The 1300 was Hondaís first attempt at a mainstream small coupe. This car was so important to the brand that the design and develoment project was led by none other than Soichiro Honda himself, who said, ďItís to take the wind out of the sails of Toyota and Nissan.Ē

Honda also spent a fortune developing the air cooled 1.3-litre engine found in the 1300 that sold in very low numbers in Australia. Iím glad to see the interior hasnít been butchered with roll bars and exta gauges flung across the dash and to take it back to its road car roots wonít cost a fortune. I reckon this 1300 coupe would be a heap of fun on the track, which is probably why its owner tricked it up in the first place.

1954 BUICK SPECIAL 46C $80,000

HERE IS ONE that would go straight to the pool room. Just over 3100 46C Specialís were produced and this one hasnít had anyone lay a hand on it. Itís totally original and looks tíriffic. The 46C convetible had a sizeable amount of grunt thanks to the 8 cylinders in its snout. And this one has travelled just 76,336 miles since rolling out the factory door. It has power steering, power brakes and even a powered roof and a shed load of factory accessories added to it. Finished in Carlsbad Black with a red interior, how good would this be on a summer night at the drive-in, roof down watching the big screen? Heaven.

1999 FIAT COUPE $17,000

YEAH I KNOW, a bit left field for me, but this Pininfarina penned Fiat isnít a such bad thing and quite rare as well. It was originally a Pommy car, imported here with full compliance in 2003 and comes with original books, sales brochure and history. It even has touch up paint pens. Power is courtesy of a five-cylnder, two-litre Lancia donk with a five-speed manual bolted to it. The thing that really grabs me about this loveable Italian is its rarity and if you are thinking of investing in an older Italian car that wonít break the bank to buy, then this one is a good place to start.

1971 ALFA ROMEO GTV 2 $59,500

THESE old Alfa GTVs are what made the brand famous and good clean examples like this red beauty are rarer than rocking horse you-know-what. Whatís more, offerings such as this car rarely come on the market and are usually traded privately. Powering this Series II is a 1.8-litre four and a five-speed manual gearbox driving the rear wheels. These GTVs are a real driverís car and on the right road on the right day, there are few oldies that will give you so much pleasure.

1992 FORD FALCON EB $75,000

THEREíS nothing better than buying an original and according to the ad this is the original Dick Johnson Racing EB Falcon Ė presumably the car Dick raced in the V8-only 1993 Touring Car Championship. If thatís the case, this car has significant historic value and whoever buys it should probably rip out the current 6-litre Nascar engine and flog it off to fund the restoration of the car to its original state. You might even get a fair bit of advice from Dick himself... if you ask nicely. Fully restored it will certainly be worth a pretty penny or two.


WOW THIS is another one for the pool room. Since coming off the production line the Ď58 Champion has journeyed a mere 128 miles or in todayís money, 200kms. Why? Seems it was an engagement gift that was knocked back and the heartbroken fiancee put it away for 26 years. Then a dealer owned it for 10 years and didnít drive it. A syndicate bought it in 1993 and now itís up for grabs again, in a well-preserved state. You need to fly to NZ to buy this very beauty that comes with a fascinating back story.

2012 SUBARU WRX $29,990

ITíS HARD to believe that the Suburau WRX has been with us for almost 25 years. In that time Suby has thrown more versions of the turbo terror at us than Iíve had hot meals. Really. But one of the best and rarest is the 2012 Limited Edition Club Spec.

Only 300 were made with half getting drenched in Tangerine Orange paintwork, which makes you stand out in a crowd but also makes a nice change from the usual WRC Blue and gold.

This beauty looks to have been well looked after and the Boxer engine is known to be a tough and damn near unbreakable unit, having proven themselves as the must-have weapon for rallying.

1937 LINCOLN ZEPHYR $240,000

NOTHING BEATS A V8 unless of course itís a V12. Thatís right the Linclon Zephyr has a 267 ci V12 pushing it along and of the three bodies offered by Henryís men, the three-window coupe is the rarest and most desirable thanks to its unique flowing lines, low-raked windscreen and integrated guards.

The Lincoln Zephyr is credited as being the first streamlined yank tank due to its front end reflecting the look of the speedboats of the day and was the model that reignited Lincoln sales in the US. This one has been fully restored and is a stunning example with its dash, headlining, upholstery all in good nick.
