We’ve hit a million sales, but it ain’t over

HIGHLIGHTS Hyundai isn’t just talking about its brand; people are buying into it.

The Korean company dealt with Holden and has even sent Mazda to the bench as the second-highest seller behind all-conquering Toyota. Good news also for Mercedes-Benz, which proved its October top 10 result was no fluke, landing 10th for a second month in a row, while Mitsubishi did a stellar job, with ASX and Outlander both in the Top 20, each more than doubling year-on-year sales.

LOWLIGHTS The segment VFACTS calls ‘microcar’ has suffered the biggest fall year-to-date, and for November it fell 54.4%. Led by the Mitsubishi Mirage, Nissan Micra and Fiat 500, the shrinking segment has seen Volkswagen remove the excellent Up from Aussie showrooms and Hyundai still deciding whether to import its i10. Not a good month for the ‘Aussie’ brands, either, with Holden and Ford sales down 25.1% and 26.2% overall respectively on the previous month. th


The new Jazz has hit the spot, its 914 sales a huge jump from October’s 313, making it Honda’s best seller. Icing on the cake came from the Jazz-based City sedan with 526 sales, meaning Honda trailed only Hyundai’s i20 in the supermini segment. ber’s e da n Octob Hond
