Renault and Nissan “not in competition”

RENAULT-NISSAN Alliance CEO Carlos Ghosn has told the media that comparing the two brands is pointless. That’s despite the fact that Nissan makes up more than two-thirds of the pair’s sales, yet Renault has 45 percent of voting rights for the alliance. “There is no optimum size between the two companies because from the beginning the companies are not in competition,” Ghosn said. “There is not a kind of power play between the two companies … A lot of people – particularly the media – spend their time comparing Nissan to Renault. It’s irrelevant.”
