FORD has finally added the reversing camera that really should have been standard on the entrylevel Mondeo Ambiente when it (finally) arrived earlier this year.
But it doesn’t come for nothing, with the price up $400 to reflect the addition of the new gear.
That adds to the price premium the Mondeo already suffers over key rivals such as the Toyota Camry and Mazda 6, both of which comfortably outsell the Mondeo.
For an indication of how much the market has changed – and how much Ford is struggling to adapt – combined sales of the Falcon and Mondeo are now below that of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
Now that’s gotta hurt…
