PEUGEOT has revised the engine in its 508 GT to meet stricter Euro 6 emissions regulations. So while itís cleaner and more fuel efficient Ė fuel use is claimed at just 4.4L/100km Ė itís also down on grunt. Power drops from 150kW to 133kW, while torque has slumped from 450Nm to 400Nm.

The lacklustre PSA six-speed auto has been dropped though, replaced by an Aisin auto with the same number of ratios; the result is a 0.4se increase in the 0-100km/h time, now 8.6sec for the sedan.

At least the price has headed in the right direction, with driveaway pricing resulting in a $700 price reduction.
