PORSCHE has attempted to block a UK government safety report on its 2011 Cayman. The study came after Porsche drivers complained of throttle delays of up to 2.5 seconds in certain roll-on acceleration scenarios from 50km/h, P g C d o a which they claimed was dangerous while attempting to overtake. Porsche has admitted a ‘delayed response’ from the throttle is possible due to the need to conform to European noise limits, which includes just such a roll-on test.
