Ford rakes in record result

Ford Motor Company has announced a record $US7.4 billion profit for 2015, having enjoyed booming sales in every region apart from a single loss-making blip in South America. North America contributed to most of the earnings, while boom times in China pushed the Asia Pacific division (which includes Ford Australia) to a record fourthquarter result. Ford chief financial officer Bob Shanks (right) said 2015 was the “breakthrough year” Ford promised after it spent heavily in 2014 to build new plants in Asia and bring a new F-150 pick-up to market in the US.
