Tech crashes hurt, says survey

Technical snafus now account for one in five complaints about vehicle quality, the latest JD Power Vehicle Dependability Study says.

That wasn’t much of a problem for Lexus, which ranked as the most dependable brand, followed closely by Porsche. Lexus’s parent Toyota finished fourth behind GM brand Buick.

Tellingly, vehicle dependability went backwards in this survey, with overall ratings falling three percent as the growing number of tech-related glitches compared with the last survey weighed heavily on the results.
