HOLDEN ON 2

Gary Black, via email

Why couldnít a Japanese or Korean car manufacturer utilise the facilities that Holden or Toyota are closing down? A large part of the infrastructure is already in place.

Maybe they could assemble knock-down units for global right-hand-drive markets or countries with slightly different emissions or safety legislation.

Why not even a research centre for a greener system of transport Ė not only cars but public transport? Aussies have always been an ingenious and inventive bunch.

Maybe Iím nuts, but letís not give up on the local industry.
