Mazda’s long-running product development deal with Ford looks to be coming to an end, with the Japanese car maker signing a deal with compatriot commercial-vehicle specialist Isuzu to co-develop a new ute. Mazda and Isuzu announced “a basic agreement on next-generation pick-up truck collaboration”. The short statement added the collaboration would allow Isuzu to enhance its product competitiveness and Mazda to strengthen its product line-up. Don’t pop a deposit down just yet, though. The earliest we’re likely to see anything is 2020.
