Apple’s iCar takes a back seat

Apple, the maker of iPhones, iPads and iMacs, appears to be hedging its bets when it comes to the iCar. It has appointed Dan Dodge, the former head of smartphone rival Blackberry’s automotive division, to head up a push to develop self-driving technology that carmakers can add to their products. Media reports say that, despite the shift in focus, Project Titan – as the iCar project is known – is still a goer. It also now puts Apple on an equal footing with selfdrive tech rival Google.
