What’s all the fuss about the Commodore name?

Commodore is a model designation invented by General Motors for the Opel brand and was used on Opels for years before it was ever stuck on a Holden. So no point in getting all possessive about it, it’s possible GM may choose to use it on some other model in future. For now they think there’s still equity in Holden Commodore, so they’re continuing to brand vehicles destined for the Australian market that way. Unlikely that will change for some time.
