Rednecks vs blue bloods

Hennessey, that hothouse of Houston horsepower and hyperbole, has hinted that its next vehicle, the Venom F5, will be aiming to beat the Bugatti Chiron in a race to be the first to break the 300mph (482km/h) barrier in a production vehicle.

Revealed at SEMA in the US, the Hennessey Venom F5 is powered by a twin-turbo V8 producing in excess of 1043kW. The fastest unofficial recorded speed for a production car was 435km/h by the F5ís predecessor, the Venom. That was the claim, at least.
