What is the point of fitting tachometers to what seems like every new car on sale? Only a few years ago they were found only in exalted sports cars and grand tourers; now they are in the cheapest Suzuki and Hyundai models. Why? How often would the driver of an economy hatch ever look at it?
A few years ago the same economy boxes sported ludicrous spoilers. These, thankfully, are now thin on the ground. Will tachos go the same way?
