Vale Holden, Ford and Toyota’s large local sedans. Their replacements seem to be large SUVs and trucks, which leaves me pondering about parking space proportions.
For years, developers have been screwing down the size of parking spaces. When two of these juggernauts park together, try opening the doors without hitting the car beside it. How often do you see women in their Range Rovers or Prados and now Hiluxes and Navaras trying to get kids out of the safety seat, banging the door of the car they are parked beside? Ramps are a joke if the amount of paint on the walls and tyre marks on the kerbs are any indication.
Will future parking facilities have wider spaces and ramps?
Unlikely, so get used to your pride and joy covered in dents.
