Fordís fist of fives

As the war to offer ever longer and more competitive new-vehicle warranties rages on, Ford has made its latest strategic move, boosting its previous 100,000km offer from three years to five, while removing the distance limit. The new deal now matches other key players including Honda, Hyundai, Jeep and Mitsubishi, but crucially, it also covers Ford commercial models such as the big-selling Ranger. That means the updated warranty matches the five-year/unlimited coverage of arch-rival Holden Colorado, though it still falls short of Kiaís industryleading seven-year/unlimited back-up.
