Mazda has confirmed turbo-petrol power for the CX-5 in the form of the 170kW, 420Nm engine from the Mazda 6 and CX-9. GT and Akera versions are available with the SkyActiv-G 2.5T engine, bringing 7.7sec 0-100km/h performance and 8.2L/100km official economy. Mazda has also made the full safety suite standard across the CX-5 range, including smart brake support, active cruise, driver attention alert, high-beam control, lane departure warning, and lanekeep assist. A development of the G-Vectoring control system, G-Vectoring Plus, also features. The Akera flagship gets Nappa leather seat trims, timber cabin inserts, ventilated front seats and a heated wheel, rear outer heated seats, and a frameless rear-view mirror. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now fitted as standard across the CX-5 range.
