WHAT’S NEW?

An entire engine swap: out with the 2.4-litre atmo four, and in with a 3.5-litre V6 making 206kW and 336Nm. Teamed with an eight-speed auto, front drive, and in all model grades.

HAS IT WORKED?

Given the entry price hasn’t risen, it’s an unequivocal ‘yes’. Especially as a revised chassis tune promises better ride/handling.

JAGUAR F-TYPE

WHAT’S NEW?

More richly trimmed interior gains 12.3-inch virtual instruments, enhanced Meridian audio, and CarPlay/Android Auto. Recalibrated eight-speed auto smarter and faster, plus hefty exterior revisions at both ends.

HAS IT WORKED?

Yep. Changes most evident in R-spec V8, which bumps power to 423kW, brings extensive chassis upgrades; optional carbon ceramics.

MAZDA 2

WHAT’S NEW?

Tiny jumps in power and torque for atmo 1.5, plus reduced emissions. Full safety suite now standard across the range, as are better front seats and exterior tweaks. The 2 boasts tidier handling with G-Vectoring Control Plus.

HAS IT WORKED?

Cutting the previous entry-level model means you’ll pay more to get more, but value remains.
